aus dem Ausstellungstext:
Florian Kuhlman (aka Lance Kanno)

Florian Kuhlmann’s work is strongly influenced by the net, the culture of the net and the ideas of open-source and free access to information. His huge collages are made out of thousands of pictures found on the web, put together to tell stories about the global technomachine and mediashocks like 9/11. To focus the work more on the world they come from and depend on — the net and the digital machines — the images are only presented in digital form. That’s why presenting the works in a virtual world of Second life is a natural surrounding for his work.

The way Florian’s artwork is distributed also pushes the limits of art “beyond the age of mechanical reproduction.” All his images can be downloaded in printable high-resolution format from his website. Yet, each picture is a part of a unique multiple-concept, which was designed in 2006. As part of the multiple, images can be bought as authorized “unicums.” This concept requires the artist to have one eye firmly fixed on the new realities of zero-cost reproduction, and a twinkle in the other eye aimed at the buyer. the keenag.com
Keenag is
the pop-surrealism and lowbrow art gallery of Second Life. It started as a series of exhibits in The Art Loft, a popular artist-run space in Second Life. In December 2006, Keenag established a separate gallery, becoming the first independent Second Life gallery focused exclusively on pop-surralism and lowbrow art.
